索尔思光电推出CWDM GPON OLT 和ONT 产品

         Chatsworth，美国加州—-光通信系统和数据通信网络元器件领先供应商--索尔思光电有限公司Source Photonics Inc.（美国MRV通信公司下属子公司），今天宣布成功推出CWDM（稀疏波分复用）GPON OLT 和ONT 系列产品。 

         索尔思光电的CWDM GPON OLT 和ONT 产品为客户提供了一个更为经济的替代解决方案,可使GPON网络总容量提高到10G甚至更高。该方案是基于现今成熟的GPON技术之上，采用在单根光纤中传输多个不同波长的光信号来达到提升光纤传输容量，提高光纤利用率的目的。CWDM系统为运营商提供了低成本的灵活的网络构架，可应用于下行2.5G b/s -12.5G b/s和上行1.25G b/s -6.25G b/s的网络构建。索尔思光电的CWDM PON系统收发模块均符合现行的GPON ITU G.984.2标准。 

         “随着网络视频和无线3G应用的日益推广，人们对带宽的需求不断增长，10G EPON和XG-PON产品正越来越多的亮相市场。但是10G PON技术还没有完全成熟，价格也没有形成竞争优势，”索尔思光电产品线管理部资深总监Darron Young如是说，“而我们的CWDM PON收发模块是基于现今成熟的GPON产品而来的，它给运营商提供了一种低成本，高效率的提升带宽的方案。” 

CWDM GPON 包括10GPON和10GEPON两个系列，它的出现弥补了索尔思光电在该领域的产品空白，现在索尔思光电可以提供全系列下一代PON的解决方案。索尔思目前已经开始为有意向的客户提供CWDM PON系列产品的样品，该系列产品将有望在2011年初全面上市。

         Chatsworth, CA –– Source Photonics Inc. (a subsidiary of MRV Communications), a leading provider of optical communication products used in telecommunication systems and data communication networks, today announces the CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Mulplexing) GPON OLT and ONT product family. 

         Source Photonics CWDM GPON OLT and ONT provide an alternative cost-effective solution to expand the total capacity to 10Gb/s or beyond in GPON networks. It is based on the existing mature GPON technology using multiple CWDM channels to expand the total capacity in the single fiber. The CWDM provides a flexible network architecture and pay-as-you-go for service providers, enabling increased bandwidth from 2.5Gb/s to 12.5Gb/s down-stream and from 1.25Gb/s to 6.25Gb/s up stream. The CWDM PON transceivers are compliant with the existing GPON ITU standard G.984.2. 

         “With continuing bandwidth demand to support internet video and 3G wireless network growth, 10G EPON and XG-PON are emerging in the market. However, 10G PON technology has not yet reached maturity and a competitive cost point”, said Darron Young, Senior Director of Product Line Management at Source Photonics. “Our CWDM PON transceivers are based on the existing mature GPON products provides an immediate, alternative solution to allow service providers to expand the bandwidth with the minimum investment.” 

         CWDM GPON product complements Source Photonics’ existing product portfolio includes 10GPON and 10GEPON. With the newly added CWDM GPON, Source Photonics offers the all NG (Next Generation) PON solutions. The CWDM GPON products are sampling now and expect to be fully released for production in early 2011. 

         The CWDM GPON product family will be on display at our booth in next week’s CIOE through Sep 6-9th, in Shenzhen, China.
