朗讯与BCC签订数百万美金合同

    Lucent Technologies has announced an optical expansion contract worth several million U.S. dollars with Beijing Communication Corp. (BCC), a subsidiary of China Netcom. Per the contract, Lucent will supply its next-generation optical products--including the LambdaUnite Multi-Service Switch (MSS) and the Metropolis ADM MultiService Mux-- to assist BCC in building a highly scalable optical transport network that meets both its current and future bandwidth and service growth needs. The expansion project, to be cutover by the yearend, marks the first win for LambdaUnite MSS in BCC. 
     
     Lucent's next-generation multiservice switches and metro multiservice multiplexers will complement the existing SDH network and help BCC expand its network capacity and reduce operating costs while delivering new revenue-generation services such as Gigabit- and 10-Gigabit Ethernet, say Lucent representatives.
