NeoPhotonics Announces Volume Availability of 1xN PLC Splitter Modules for FTTH Applications

SAN JOSE, CA, October 1, 2004: NeoPhotonics Corporation, a leading supplier of integrated optical, planar lightwave circuit (PLC) modules, announces volume availability of its line of 1xN and 2xN fiber optic splitter modules for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) applications. NeoPhotonics's splitter modules offer class leading insertion loss, are available in 1x4, 1x8, 1x16, 1x32, 2x4, 2x8, 2x16 and 2x32 configurations and are compliant with rigorous Telcordia 1209 and 1221 reliability qualification requirements. NeoPhotonics is now shipping splitter modules from its' fully qualified high volume assembly lines.

Tim Jenks, chief executive officer for NeoPhotonics notes, "Today's emerging FTTH applications require that splitters exhibit extremely high optical performance and reliability while at the same time being produced in large volumes at low cost.
